In 2023, we were recognised by the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for the excellence of our practices an index that monitors the performance and commitment of listed companies towards transparency in gender equality practices and policies.

We’re pushing boundaries and embracing a wide range of commitments:

Portuguese Diversity Charter

We signed this European Commission initiative in 2020. It is a voluntary commitment by employers from various sectors, outlining concrete measures that can be implemented to promote diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace.

Commitment to Inclusion

Created by the Inclusive Community Forum at Nova SBE Executive Education, we signed this commitment in 2023 marking the first step on our Journey for Inclusion.

Projects and Initiatives

Gender Equality Plan

Our Gender Equality Plan reflects our commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace. It aims to eliminate barriers and create the conditions for all our people to access the same development and career progression opportunities regardless of gender.

Neurodiversity Programme

A pioneering programme in Portugal that, since 2021, has promoted the integration of people on the autism spectrum into the job market. In 2024, NOS joined forces with Critical Software and Critical Techwords to boost the employability of neurodivergent individuals at NOS. The first phase focused on raising awareness among our people, highlighting the potential and added value, and preparing teams for the integration of neurodivergent talent.

Inspiring Talks

This is one of our internal initiatives where, through live streaming, we create a space for enriching conversations on diversity both in the workplace and in society. These sessions feature guest speakers, whether from within our organisation or recognised voices in the field.

Future Generations

One of our contributions to increasing female representation in STEM fields. Through direct interaction between our female employees and younger generations, we create practical and engaging experiences aimed at sparking interest and passion for technology among young girls. We strive to challenge stereotypes and provide inspiring role models, showing that careers in tech are accessible and rewarding — regardless of gender.

Participation in STEM Events

We’re giving a platform to the women who are making a difference in the tech world. We actively encourage our female employees to take part in various initiatives, offering them space to share their ideas, expertise and career journeys, while helping to build a support network that inspires and empowers greater female representation in the sector.
